FAREWELL, OLD SCHULER

1978 – 2026

After 48 years of tireless work,
the time has come to say goodbye to our 200-ton Schuler press.

It began operating at GMP in 1978, when our company was very different from the one it is today. It was one of the machines that accompanied our journey and helped make our growth possible.

In its early years, it produced millions of components for gas cooker taps.
Then the work changed, the markets changed, and the press changed with them, moving on to the production of deep-drawn components for coils used in the automotive industry.

Over almost half a century, it has seen the company around it change: people, products, dies, technologies and generations of machinery.

And all the while, it simply kept doing what it knew best:

down, up, and strike.

Millions and millions of strokes.

Today, its place will be taken by a new press, equipped with technology that, back in 1978, would have seemed like science fiction.

And that is how it should be.
A company that wants to have a future must continue to innovate, invest and evolve.

But before we turn our attention to the new machine, we want to take a moment to remember the old one.

Because the growth of a company is not just about figures, customers and investments.
It is about the people who have worked there, and also about machines like this one, whose unmistakable rhythm has marked the working days on our shop floor for decades.

Thank you, Schuler.

For 48 years, you have played your part in the history of GMP.
